How I explain computers to beginners

When explaining RAM vs SSDs to students new to digital screens, do not discuss blocks or byte structures first. Talk about workspaces:

• RAM is the active desk space where you lay your active tools. Large desks allow you to handle more papers simultaneously.
• SSD is the physical metal storage cabinet down the hall. Safe, holds gigabytes, but requires a stroll to fetch files.

An analog approach accelerates comprehension, creating a much stronger baseline for theoretical computer structures.
